Drew Anthony Angelopoulos
DREW ANTHONY ANGELOPOULOS.
Born in Portsmouth New Hampshire. A fantasy and contemporary artist that works in both digital art along with pencil and charcoal. Graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Hampshire along with being honored as a presidential scholar. Focused in college on studio art and human anatomy, but also studied both the sciences and graphic design. Also practiced in metal and clay sculpture, lithography and oil painting.
With many influences in the art world, no artist has been more influential than his father, John Charles Angelopoulos. Introduced at a very young age by his father to artists such as Frank Frazetta, NC Wyeth, Dali, and Boris Vallejo among many others. Drew was always fascinated by work that hovered in and out of reality. His father taught him to study line and brush work of different artists and to try different techniques and styles when working on his own pieces. Today they both continue to learn from one another by sharing and critiquing each other’s work. Drew has developed his own style of art that mainly focuses on pencil or charcoal combined with digital artwork.
Drew considers himself to be a surrealist. Always trying to include dynamic compositions with lines and blocks of color. Using the external world mixed with imagination to create the pieces.
